Exactly how the US is spying on each one of us using technology only seen in movies. And another analysis. This is extremely scary stuff. Extremely. Freedom? There is no freedom outside the minds of propagandist idealogues. Fucked up that I can only get this info in the international press.

Yet another hate crime that will be underprosecuted: “Chicago-area mosque shot with rifle after Rep. Walsh warns of ‘radical’ Islam“. Same mosque in MS gets hit twice, the Sikh shooting, now this in the course of two weeks. I’m going to sound like a broken record, but this is almost exactly what happened in the past…

More hard data (from the NYPD itself) that “Stop and Frisk” doesn’t work. Over the weekend, NYPD shot a man 12 times, killing him, for wielding a knife. Overkill much?

Chris Hedges’ excellent analysis of the criminalization of dissent. “[The NDAA] authorizes the executive branch to order the military to seize U.S. citizens deemed to be terrorists or associated with terrorists. Those taken into custody by the military, which becomes under the NDAA a domestic law enforcement agency, can be denied due process and habeas corpus and held indefinitely in military facilities. Any activist or dissident, whose rights were once protected under the First Amendment, can be threatened under this law with indefinite incarceration in military prisons, including our offshore penal colonies. The very name of the law itself—the Homeland Battlefield Bill—suggests the totalitarian credo of endless war waged against enemies within ‘the homeland’ as well as those abroad.”

White House refuses to abide with ban against indefinite detention of Americans

Yet another mass shooting. What the hell is going on? Is this another signal of the collapse of the American empire?

Evidence that a National Guardsman has been training white supremacists as recently as a year ago…but they’re no threat, right?

How the nutjob conservatives got so obsessed with race relations…kinda like pre-Civil Rights era in the Deep South. Shades of Emmitt Till come to mind. Ex GOP strategist outlines how his old party is going to exclude black votes this election

Big Ag about to get a windfall as government bails them out over the drought. Who says corporate welfare is only for Wall Street?
